It’s still valid, same thing happened to Western Michigan in 2016. It sucks for the little guys because a weak conference will always have a tough time breaking into the big stage.

As a Bama fan, I didn’t think we deserved the 4 spot. I don’t think Ohio State, or USC did either though, but I’m pulling for Bama regardless.
Hindsight and all, I think UCF should’ve been included. I’d like to see one more game: UCF vs. Championship Winner. I have my suspicions about that Auburn game so I’d like to see what they can do, one more time.
Also, every prediction I made about the “postseason” has been horribly wrong, so I’m not making one for tonight. My predictions during the “regular season” were pretty good though, so there’s that.

I don’t think Clemson should’ve been #1. Their defense didn’t show up during the playoff game and their schedule sucked. This is coming from a Clemson fan living in the town of the Bulldogs. Georgia should’ve been #1, Chokelahoma should’ve been #2, bama #3, UCF #4

Our defense was questionable, at best, the last 9 games of the year though - and our offense seemed to regress a bit. Looking back but trying not to take into account the two semifinals, I would’ve said OU, UGA, Clemson, UCF - in that order.
Thing is, and we all know it, they wanted that Clemson/Bama rematch. As impartial as the committee may try to be, they all knew why they seeded the teams the way they did. This was in interesting year, though, considering there really wasn’t one team that was better than all the rest. They all have some issues that were exploited at different times.

Agreed. The first two games were good games, you have to admit, but without Watson vs. a premier defense, it just doesn’t have the same appeal.
